Today, I am delighted to share a unique summer opportunity, the Nepal Leadership Trek 2018 and seek your support in promoting the program to your network. Organized by our campaign’s Nepal Leadership Academy (NLA), the Trek is designed for young professionals and university students looking to hone their leadership skills while fulfilling their thirst for an adventurous journey in the Himalayas. The Trek introduces participants to the fundamentals of adaptive leadership and redefines widely practiced concepts of a leader while providing them with rare experiences of self-awareness and discovery. I believe students at DIAK would be excellent fits for this summer leadership program, running from May 28 to June 18, 2018. Application to apply is available here.
In addition to the outdoor adventures, the Nepal Leadership Trek features NLA’s flagship graduate level course, Leading from Within, a result of 18-month research conducted by NLA Coach and Former Harvard Senior Fellow Dr. Pukar Malla with distinguished professors Marshall Ganz and Ronald Heifetz at Harvard Center for Public Leadership. The course assimilates NLA’s learning about adult development and social innovation gained from training 200+ changemakers in civil society, business, bureaucracy and politics in Nepal and abroad. The itinerary covers a historic tour through Kathmandu Valley, a wilderness trip to Chitwan National Park, viewing of the himalayan range from Pokhara Valley and trekking to the Annapurna Base Camp, one of the world’s best-rated outdoor expedition. The Trek will traverse from 500 meters to 3300 meters altitude from the sea. For more information, please refer to the attached program prospectus.
Proceeds from the Nepal Leadership Trek will support the Daayitwa campaign, which seeks to accelerate innovations of rural youth and women´entrepreneurs in Nepal. The leadership program is a milestone effort of this campaign towards self-sustainability and social impact. The leadership program is a milestone effort of our campaign towards self-sustainability and social impact. I hope you will support us in our endeavor by spreading the word in your network and encouraging individuals to apply.
