I started my practical training in early September 2018 at Paytrail Technology Oy. The company is based in Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4, with their office in Lutakko area. Paytrail operates in the field of ePayment, and it offers payment services and solutions for merchants with online stores. Their service is already used by over five thousand webstores, so the company\u2019s pink logo is not a rare sight when you\u2019ve filled your shopping cart in an online store and moving on to the payment process. Paytrail\u2019s role at this point is that they offer the payment methods for the consumer, the consumer completes the payment with the method he\/she has chosen, then the money is transferred through Paytrail to its final owner: the webstore’s merchant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My title at Paytrail was ePayment Expert Trainee, and I was part of the customer service team, which combines of roughly ten people. My main tasks included B2B \u2013customer service, customership management, writing invoices, supportive tasks for sales, and monitoring the payment traffic. These were the tasks which were promised in the job advertisement for the position, and my expectations for this were fulfilled, if not exceeded. Of course there were also a lot of other kinds of smaller assignments and tasks too, and the constantly evolving and growing industry in which the company operates, made the job very interesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What impressed me the most at Paytrail was the unbelievable atmosphere and work-environment. Every newcomer is warmly welcomed starting from the day one, and the supportive feel doesn\u2019t wear off over time. Everyone is always helping if you have anything to ask, regardless of their title or team, and you\u2019re never left alone with a problem you might be facing. The hierarchy is basically non-existent in the everyday life at Paytrail. Also, the list of employee benefits is a long one, ranging from breakfast needs offered by the company, to hockey and football tickets that every employee is free to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Overall, I maintained a very positive image of the company from start to finish, and have nothing but good things and experience to take with me for my future career.
