I really don´t know what the title should be for this post…

But this week I have just enjoyed my exchange here in Portoroz. Beginning of the week wasn´t that good but this weekend was just super. I mean weather. I think this week my plan was to do a lot of school papers and I actually did some progress. I have to do total of six papers for six courses and now I have made two and a half. Today I try to finish the third one. Titles for these three papers have been Cargo flow in distribution terminal, Magnetic compass and Human resource management – Leadership.

In this week I have also been rowing for four times. Best one was on Saturday when it was just for fun. We rowed in the middle of the sea and got sun there for an hour and drank redbull. But tomorrow sweating again. No worries.

Today me and my few friends went to swim to the sea. Temperature was something like 14? so just jump and up again. But it was so great. We have to still wait for a month maybe so that the temperatures are more suitable for swimming. Today and every day in this week we have also played a lot of table tennis. Day and night really. We got the table in this week and already first ball is broken. At the end of my exchange I´m gonna be so good that Chinese want me to join to their Olympic team. This is a warning pointed to my uncle. 😉

School wtf!?

This week had our first lectures. It lasted for two hours and that was already enough to give me a headache. That was only because we thought that the lecture would last only for 30 minutes and I was so hungry and air in the classroom wasn´t the best. But I survived 🙂 And we learned there some things also! We are going to have another lecture on next Wednesday so four hours total contact lessons for this course. Teacher said that normally that course would have 90 hours contact lessons but 4 is good for us. And today I finished my first project paper for another course. So if somebody thought that I´m here on holiday, it is a lie 😉 Actually I have five projects still to be done.

I don´t know if I told already but I´ve been training rowing with our faculty´s rowing team. Trainings are from Monday to Thursday every evening and it really is tough. After one hour rowing your shoulders and whole body screams for help but I really enjoy it. No pain No gain!!

Weekend in Ljubljana

Finally after been here for four weeks I visited in Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia. I went there again with my erasmus group. This time though with arranged car and not hitch-hiking. Five of us went by hitch-hiking and they actually were there before us. So good ride free of charge and quicker.. not bad deal.

We didn´t have there hotel or hostel rooms reserved. Our accommodation was more exotic like it is supposed to be in erasmus life. Four of us had 2m*2m place reserved from some German guy´s dormitory room floor. And the rest four found a place to sleep from couchsurfing. I had an honor to sleep on the floor 🙂

So it was saturday when we went to Ljubljana. First we took our belongings to the dormitory and then continued our journey to the center. There we went Irish pub to drink. After all it was St Patrick´s weekend. There one Guinness that tasted extremely good. Ireland – France rugby match came on TV and people were shouting like hell. But it was great and rugby rules are now more familiar to me. At one o´clock after we had played enough drinking games at couchsurfing place we found our way to bar that was crowded. There we enjoyed our time till it was 4am and then I fell a sleep to comfy floor. In spite of this bad sleeping place, I actually slept quite well and I felt good in the morning.

I´m going to dedicate next week for school works and sports. Lets see how that is going to work out.

Hitch-hiking in Slovenia

Last weekend we had a privilege to enjoy sunny Portoroz . It was +18 degrees and clouds were nowhere to be seen. It was quite windy though. On friday we went to buy ice cream with our erasmus group to one beach bar called Cacao. Then we ate our ice creams in pier. Can weekend start any better? I think not.

On friday night we started to plan for saturday. We came up with this crazy idea that we should hitch-hike to Croatia to place called Pula that is approximately 100 km from Portoroz. So saturday morning we woke up early and took the signs that girls made on friday and started walking to nearest highway. We walked for an hour but nobody stopped, we just got a lot of laughs. Then finally one car stopped and took three of us inside and we started to drive towards Croatian border. In the border officer asked everybody’s IDs and when he looked at mine he shook his head and refused to let me in to the country whit my Finnish ID. Maybe I should have also taken my passport….. Then we all got out of the car and started to figure out what to do. Eventually we decided to hitch-hike to Koper and spend the day there. Although one guy continued to Croatia. (But before he eventually got to go over border police took him in some interrogation room for 45 minutes because he took pictures of Croatian border and flag. They also checked his belongings and camera and asked why I showed my middle finger in this picture ->..    )

I traveled with four different cars that day and even tough we had huge disappointments on our journey it was really exciting day. Croatia is not yet my 15th country that I have visited but I´m going to get it maybe even in this week. Next time I take my passport also with me IF they still let me in to the country cause now they have my picture showing middle finger in front of Croatian border. But it is good that life is not boring:)

Party, gym and football

Well there I actually said it all in the title. 3 hours football on monday, gym and party on tuesday and today again few hours football. Exchange is goood.

Today was first sunny day in this week and I really enjoyed being outside. I think the sun also made me a bit browner. Or it is just my imagination. But rest of the week is going to be sunny and warm (+18 C) so maybe I get some concrete results. Tomorrow I will actually go to school but only to ask why my other professors haven´t answered anything to me about my courses. No rush though cause I was planning to do some trip next week. Don´t know where yet.

Party yesterday started well but didn´t go as planned. We had fun playing drinking games in Hostel but when we went to this “parties”, there were nobody there. Regardless our little mood killer we didn´t panic. We took taxi to Koper where was quite big party and there we danced until our feet were hurting.

Saturday in Venice

I don´t know if my blog should mostly consist school stuff but I will tell you something about it when I know. Though we had one meeting with our one professor on friday where we discussed about what we have to do for his two courses that I have also chosen. And the conclusion was no contact lessons and one project work for both courses and then presentations. I´m just waiting excitedly what I have to do for the other courses. I haven´t heard anything from the professors yet.

But then real subject. Today we conquered Venice with our erasmus group. Day started really early and I don´t remember when was the last time I had to wake up at 6.00 am. We found our way to the bus and our 3 hour journey to Venice started. Day was cloudy until we got to our destination when the worse happened and the sky dropped its first drops.. Then it rained. Sometimes more and sometimes less. After we saw the all the magnificent attractions we (at least I) counted the hours when we get back to the bus and home. My shoes were soaking and it was really uncomfortable. Still there were a lot of tourists and you had to battle your way through. Nevertheless we had really good tourist guide there for a while and the history was actually really interesting, after all it is Venice.

To be honest with you all (thousands of people who read my amazing blog) I would rather have spent that day in Venice with my girlfriend cause it is the city of romance. But I have time to show her places when she comes here to see me:)) <3
