Here I am, writing from Finland once again. My flight from Japan arrived on the afternoon of the 21st, and I am still experiencing some jetlag. This is just a quick post to share some of my thoughts about it, and after Christmas I will make another post where I will share some information about all the practicalities of leaving Japan and Seinan Gakuin University.
First of all, I already miss all the people I had the joy of meeting in Japan. Above picture is from my dormitory’s farewell party, which got pretty sentimental as the evening proceeded. We had some good times living together! I’m sure that I will meet some of them in the future, or if I happen to be in the same country with any of them, I will contact them, be it next year or in five years. Four months went by so quickly, and it almost came as a surprise that we all had to leave.
I’m less sad about leaving Japan – not that I’m not sad, but I know that I can go back there whenever I want to, and it will be there waiting for me. And I am sure I’m going back, especially to Fukuoka. There was so much left to see and do, that I can’t wait to be there again. Overall I couldn’t be happier that I left for an exchange.
I want to thank everyone who helped me during my exchange. All my fellow exchange students, my new Japanese friends, the staff at both my home and host institutions and my teachers. You made my exchange truly an amazing experience!
