I had the opportunity to complete my practical training in corporate financing team at Svea Ekonomi AB filial i Finland. Svea engages around 150 employees in Finland while its main office is located in Helsinki. Svea’s team of corporate financing offers enterprises flexible financing and administrative services by increasing cash flows and reducing credit risks – apart from invoice purchasing and factoring services, Svea is known for its debt collection services as well. Svea Ekonomi has been placed several times in Great Place to Work at-ranking which speaks for itself – the organizational culture is open, innovative and supporting.
My trainee period was placed from the beginning of September 2017 to the end of December 2017. During the four months of my practical training I gained comprehensive introduction to the field of corporate financing. My learning outcomes weren’t limited to experience in the field of finance only, but also human resources as I took part of recruiting process from choosing the most suitable candidates for interviewing as well as picking the right person for that specific position. Studying the recruiting process and the opportunity to actually influence the outcome was an interesting process which taught me a lot of things I can utilize in future scenarios as a job seeker.
I learned a lot during the four months of traineeship not only about hard skills included in this specific job description but also soft skills about people management and myself as a team player and individual worker. I also had the opportunity to continue working as a permanent employee at Svea – Hurra!
