Practical training
Hi there! My name is Nurana and this Spring semester, I had an opportunity to practice my theoretical knowledge at Harvia Oy, the world’s leading sauna and spa company.
Briefly, the position I was hired to is called Export coordinator trainee and within this role, I was mainly assigned to assist Export team with invoicing, handling pricing information, taking and approving orders, arranging shipments, etc.
This internship was my very first experience of working in a “real” business environment. During this period, I have not only learned so many great things about the industry, but I have also gained valuable experience of working within B2B environment. Specifically, it was exciting for me to learn and observe how different businesses around the world are cooperating between each other, their business approaches as well as their manner of communication (especially it was interesting to learn how companies are operating nowadays, during the COVID-19 pandemic)
Moreover, it was exciting for me to be a part of a huge supply chain here at Harvia. As the company’s environment itself is quite dynamic it was interesting for me to explore, learn, and cooperate with different teams like Sales and Marketing, Purchasing and Finance, Production and Dispatch. In fact, I have also had a chance to cooperate with Harvia’s family companies, and it was quite instructive.
In terms of the working environment at Harvia, it was amazing! The staff as well as the managers were always helpful and supportive which made my experience as a trainee both pleasant and valuable. So, dear Harvia team thank you for giving me an opportunity!
