Internship at Porsche Motorsport in Stuttgart, Germany

Hello,

due to my past motorsports involvement and passion towards cars, I came to the realization that it would make a lot of sense to start looking for a internship possibility abroad. I sent out around 50 applications and I ended up spending 6 months living and working in Stuttgart, Germany in an internship for Porsche AG. To be more specific I was working in the Porsche Motorsport GT Racing team in the field of Business Relations.

Part of my daily operations were tasks such as activation measures for sponsors of the works team. It included photo and film shootings and also press events crafted specifically for the need of the customer. Project managing parts of the Porsche Motorsport Hospitality which was always present at the race events. Daily communication with agencies and service providers, creating of concepts and presentations for sponsors, invitation management for events, managing the Porsche Motorsports appearance on the internet and managing the Porsche Motorsport Team Collection for the whole Porsche Motorsports staff.

I enjoyed my tasks a lot, I got to see a real glimpse of how an automotive manufacturer actually works and I especially got to see a lot behind the scenes with their legendary works Porsche Motorsport team. Sure, shifting from a flat scandinavian work culture to something more hierarchical wasn’t the easiest task, but that is why I study International Business, in order to be prepared in the best way for finally working “internationally”.

Aside from work, I really loved my time living in the centre of Stuttgart in a nice apartment. I was lucky enough to get paid for the internship so I managed to have a really enjoyable summer in the region of Baden-Württemberg, met a lot of new people, made lifelong friends and enjoyed to beautiful scenery, culture, gastronomy and nightlife of the area.
